Why don’t we get thrown off the earth as it rotates?

The main idea is that the force required to keep people turning at the same rate as the earth (1 revolution per 24 hours) is much smaller than the force due to gravity which pulls us inward.  Check out these videos to help get a better understanding of this idea:
